Welcome to the wonderful Room 1. We have 17 amazing children and 1 terrific teacher in our room and we are all "Shining Bright" this year. We are Year 3 students and are practicing the school values of Partnership, Quality and Respect. It is easy to do this when we have Quality children helping in our room each day and another Mrs. Jackson who does Mrs. Breen's classroom release time every other Wednesday.
Mrs Breen has 4 adult children and 1 grandchild with another due in July. Her grand child lives with his mum and dad in England. She has another daughter and her husband who live in Sydney, Australia. the other daughter and her husband live in Christchurch. Mrs. Breen's only son is a Captain in the NZ Army and lives in Upper Hutt.
One of the special things we do in Room 1 includes Maori because Mrs. Breen knows lots of Maori. We sing lots of songs and Maori waiata and we enjoy doing brain gym and dancing to Crazy Frog to get our brains switched on ready for learning each day.
As we are all most 7 years old we are learning to be more responsible for our own belongings and the things we need to have ready for school each day. We like our lovely big classroom and are making sure we keep it neat and tidy. We are lucky because we can see the new playground out of our classroom window. We love Rakaia School becauase we get to do lots of meat things like Jump Jam, swimming, jumping on the tampolines and we have a very big library with lots of books in it and best of all we love Room 1 and Mrs Breen, it is the best.
