Room 6

Welcome to Room 6 my name is Jamie Fletcher I am the new Deputy Principal at Rakaia School.  I have recently moved from Mangawhai (in the far north) with my partner Claire and son Luca.  We have been really looking forward to the new challenges that will meet us on our journey.
Room 6 is a year 4 and 5 class with a total of 25 students who are all excited about learning.  We value each others differences we bring to school and we are developing ways in which we can learn from on another.
We have been working really hard in reading and writing and some students have written some wonderful reports about Bull Sharks, African Elephants and Adelie Penguins.
Over the next few weeks we will be visiting Salmon World and have a day trip to Lake Hood where we will spend the day sailing "how exciting".
Room 6 will be learning all about ANZAC day in the weeks to come and we plan on making some neat media presentations with our new findings.  Stay tuned in to see what happens next.
