Room 1 / Ruma Tahi

Kia ora. Room 1 is the first room you come to when walking along the school verandah and is the classroom where you will find Mrs Breen. Mrs Breen is a Rakaia resident.

She has a grown up family, 2 black, silky, friendly cats (one of which sometimes comes to school), 2 chickens and 2 goldfish (which she keeps in the classroom). 

This is her 3rd year teaching the Year 3 tamariki at Rakaia School although she has taught in many different schools throughout Aotearoa and overseas in England. She enjoys including a great deal of Maori in everything she does in the classroom. There are many kowhaiwhai patterns around the classroom and 2 carvings. 

Mrs Breen thinks the school values of Partnership, Quality and Respect are extremely important and endeavours to practice them in her classroom, in the school and in her personal life.

Mrs Breen is The Junior School Syndicate (Apollo) leader and works closely with her team of Room 3 and 4.
